升降机

勇者走出洞穴，踏上开阔道路，开始观察四周。东方的悬崖边坐落着一座坚固的石木建筑。数根绳索从滑轮系统垂下，连接着一只装有役畜挽具的轮盘。升降机虽然已经废弃，但勇者仍能看见绳索延伸至崖底一座没有屋顶的建筑。

勇者向郊外仅剩的几名仆役和商人打听情况，连续问了三个牛头人都没得到有用答复。第四次询问时，一名年轻的火蜥蜴男子坐在阴暗小巷里，周围只有他自己的尾焰闪烁照明。他回答说，父亲曾是升降机管理员，而如今这个职位理应由他接任。勇者问能否让升降机重新运转，他指出了几个问题：

所有物品备齐后，勇者还得前往崖底的轮机房。旧路是唯一通道，而那里到处都是怪物、恶魔和劫掠者。

与少女克星的互动并不完全属于本任务，但勇者必须与这名海盗交战并取胜，才能选择一项奖励，其中之一便是让她提供尽可能多的绳索。她的船就在附近搁浅，于是命令船员把勇者需要的东西送来。若勇者被她击败，则可以选择让她操自己的哪个部位。

修复

来到废弃的轮机房后，勇者把山羊套进挽具。真正困难的是更换连接上下轮机房的绳索。勇者有条不紊地驱赶山羊转动轮盘，让旧绳缓缓移动，再把替换缆绳系到磨损的断端上。两座轮机房之间还有一根较细的绳子，末端系着一只小铜铃；摇响铃铛，便能通知上方的操作员，也就是那名火蜥蜴少年，启动升降机。
