The 山腹深域 Hobgoblins are a generic 群体 of potentially hostile Hobgoblin 盗贼 and Thugs that can be encountered while exploring any of the zones in the [[Undermountain]]. With the 恶魔化 incursion and the enforcement of the quarantine, the 半人马 have largely withdrawn into the walls of 科尔米诺斯, leaving the 其他 residents of the Deeplands to fend for themselves. To avoid dying to starvation, they have resulted to enforcing a toll on anyone who passes through.

念头刚起，远处一支火把骤然燃起，照出一群手持凶恶棍棒和短刀的乌合生物。他们穿着补缀得很好的皮革与布料，看似哥布林和兽人的混种。若 布林特／布里恩 在队，会指出他们是大地精：虽然穿得更好、也没农民雇作农工的那般饥饿，但依旧不是好消息；否则由勇士作出同样判断。领头的大地精解释说，勇士只需缴纳大地精过路费，否则就得用强硬手段。被问及强硬手段时，首领说他们其实不想打架，因为有人可能会重伤；但比起因贫民窟领主抬高食物价格而饿死，他们宁愿冒这个险。无论 布林特／布里恩 是否在场，首领都会说明Kelsaz 国王不在乎他们这类贫民窟垃圾；没有他在贫民窟实行价格管制，他们或许不会死于恶魔，却会死于饥饿。随后他们给勇士以下选项：

若获胜且 布林特／布里恩 在场，勇士会询问是否有地方可将强盗移交；他们回答冲锋队正忙于对抗恶魔和执行隔离令，不太可能受理，而且他们不在乎城内以外发生什么。否则，勇士会怀疑执法人员是否愿意理会。战斗胜利选项见下节。

若勇士战败，除出现战败性爱场景外，大地精还会拿走至多 600 EC，以及勇士物品栏中一件下列物品（按优先顺序拿取）：
