One of the bestial residents of the Frost Marches, a large bear.

Appearances

An absolutely massive cave bear lumbers out from behind a particularly thick copse of trees. The thing eclipses the height of an average bear by three lengths at least. When it stands to sniff the air, its head reaches near to the treetops. Looking down, it takes immediate notice of your hunting party. With a menacing growl, it bares its fangs and claws.

It's dragged half an imp along with it, and is chowing down like it's enjoying a snack while it watches the ocean in the distance. The creature's every bit as big as you feared, its dark fur matted with blood and a few arrows sticking out of its hide in shadow wounds. There's a few magic burns across its hide too, evidence of a sorcerer among the demons it eviscerated.

Valkyrie Hunt

Having completed the events of Shadows Over the Sun, the Champion can run into the Hunting with valkyries encounter in any zone of the Frostwood or Old Forest. Upon encountering them, Upon encountering them, one of the valkyrie will invite the Champion to join them on their hunt. With that, the Champion has the option to:

Victory against the cave bear will have one of the valkyries offer a small prayer to send the animal's spirit to rest, before they harvest and store the corpse in wax-cloth. With the hunt successful, a valkyrie will proposition the Champion for some post-hunt sex.

If defeated by the cave bear, the entire party safely flee, and one of the valkyries comment that sometimes hunts can go bad and there's nothing else they can do but nurse their wounds and be more prepared. They hope that this defeat does not dissuade them from joining in the next time. If present, Arona and Etheryn will make commentary on the defeat.

Hana Hunt

One of the four possible hunts the Champion can encounter with Hana is hunting a cave bear. As Hana and the Champion follow the tracks of a big bear, they are greeted to a carnage of five to six imps, with an additional one being snacked upon by a slightly injured bear. With that, the Champion has the option to:

Victory against the cave bear will have Hana thank Velun for the wildland's bounty, and swears that they do not take more than what is needed for hearth and home. With the successful hunt, they bring the beast back to Hana's place where she prepares some Trail Rations for the Champion, commenting that while she's got to start salting the steaks and making sausages, there's plenty more and she'll be happy to make dinner for them any time.

Before things can get worse, Hana grabs the Champion and they successfully flee. After resting for a few minutes, the party turn back to camp/home.
