塑形是一个统称，指旧国所采用的各种有机技术，主要涉及操纵、转化和整体重塑植物以满足自身需求。它被视为一项受人尊敬的职业，并在农业、建筑、城市开发、景观设计、木偶制作、管道铺设、水净化等相邻领域有着诸多用途。以人为技艺的坚定之手引导自然倾向，所能取得的成果远胜于二者各自单独能够实现的结果。

狸猫坚持最大限度地提高耕地的产出，以养活他们通常人数众多的家庭。

神话传说对这项实践的赞颂，以及若干令人印象深刻的壮举。传说皇宫本身就是从凯洛斯亲手种下的一颗樱花种子生长而成。

塑形所采用的方法可以从简单修剪、杂交等日常手段，延伸至精妙的魔法与炼金术技法。由于塑形的定义极其宽泛，可以认为每个人至少都会懂得一点，并让它在自己的生活中发挥某种作用，无论社会地位如何。以下各项都可视为塑形的例子：

盆景。
在小径上方将两棵树绑在一起，为你的家造出一座入口拱门。
培育出产量更高的稻米品种。
种植藤蔓，将你家中的梁柱牢牢捆扎在一起。
为你的家种植合适的屋顶。
