Being entrusted by [[Queen Alissa]] as the gate keeper, she was ironically spared from the most of the corruption that overtook Alissa and her warriors. The two grew to become close, as when Queen Alraince had passed, Queen Alissa would sometimes use to the excuse of hunting to confide her griefs and grievances to Gytha. She had made a promise to Alissa that she would be by her side no matter what, and her loyalty and duty is what drives her to always see the best in Alissa, even after all the evidence against her. Being ~~a half~~-blood, she was shorter and weaker compared to the rest of her peers, and she was picked on for it. Gytha's undying loyalty for Alissa comes from the fact that when she saw herself as a failure, Alissa had seen what she was good at and chose her out of everyone else to be her guard.
