The Harem Spirits are the remnants of [[Queen Atheldred]]'s royal harem. When Atheldred and the other [[Boreal Elves]] converted to [[Lumia]], favoured consort [[Synneva]] and the other members of the harem refused to forsake their faith. They withheld themselves from the Queen, who locked them in a tower until they repented. They never did, and their spirits are still restless in the [[Catacombs]] under the [[Palace of Ice]] today.

If you head east from the crossroads to the stairwell, you will find the harem burial chambers. There's a trapdoor to something buried below, which [[Elthara]] warns could be dangerous.

If you '''Investigate''', you (or your elven companions if you don't have the muscle for it) open the trap door with an echoing, screeching howl. Harem Spirits start coming out of the walls, they're almost friendly at first but recoil when Elthara invokes [[Lumia]]'s name. A battle follows against a never-ending crowd of spirits. Every time you defeat a spirit, a bolded message will appear suggesting that you make peace, not war. You 'win' the battle by choosing '''Defend''' or '''Surrender''' rather than taking offensive actions against the Harem Spirits. 

If you are defeated, an extended sex scene follows where a crowd of spirits have their way with the four of you. If you are victorious, the spirits lament that their love for [[Queen Atheldred]] is binding them to this place, and they need love to move on. You have the following options to help the Harem Spirits receive love.

* '''Send''': Have Elthara and Hethia peacefully see off the spirits.
* '''Grant Wish''': Grant the harem spirits their final request and allow them to expend their passions upon all of you.

If you peacefully aid the spirits move on, they invite you to claim the loot in the burial chambers below before they move on. Otherwise, you're barred from the area after being vigorously used by the harem.

If you are defeated by the harem, you, [[Etheryn]], [[Elthara]], and [[Hethia]] are all used by the harem. You return to consciousness a little while later, and recover with Etheryn while your other companions refuse to look at each other. 

If you choose to '''Grant Wish''', you have a much more intimate affair, as the harem seek to celebrate your love with Etheryn by facilitating your lovemaking with the Princess, the same way they would have attended to [[Queen Atheldred]] and [[Synneva]] in happier days. Elthara and Hethia remain awkward, not disclosing how they elected to participate in the love orgy or looking at each other.
