The item in this state is unobtainable, however, deciding to '''Keep''' the [[Rimescore]] during the events of [[Howling in the Dark]] has it shaped into one of its three forms: [[Polar Edge]], [[Glacial Spike]], or [[Hoarfrost]].

Alternatively, if [[Drifa]] is present in the party, it can be given to her, which changes her combat behavior; from a '''Level 5''' [[White Mage]] to a '''Level 7''' [[Black Mage]] equipped with the Rimescore itself and some additional changes. It can also be given to [[Cait]], which upgrades '''most''' of her companion sets by upgrading her [[Cait's_Staff#Cait.27s_Staff_.5BRimescore_Upgrade.5D|Staff and Rimebound Grimoire]].

It should be noted that keeping the shaped Rimescore raises [[Corruption]] {{SuperText|'''by (+30)'''|(until 75)}}. Giving it to Drifa will raise her corruption '''to 70''', but giving it to Cait does not.
